Begin: Mon, 06. of Jun 2016 (10:00 AM)
Location: Seoul, Korea

The paper "Placement of Services with Flexible Structures Specified by a YANG Data Model" written by Sevil Mehraghdam together with her advisor Holger Karl within the SFB 901 project C4 wins the Best Student Paper Award on the 2nd IEEE Conference on Network Softwarization (NetSoft 2016).

Software-Defined Networks (SDN), Network Function Virtualization (NFV) and Software-Defined Network-based Cloud Computing (SDNCC) could be seen as different expressions of Software-Defined Infrastructures (SDI) of an overall transformation trend, which is impacting deeply Telecom and ICT industries. This trend is transforming also several other Industries, bringing "Softwarization" to optimize costs and processes and to bring new values in the infrastructures. In particular, SDN, NFV and network programmability are creating the conditions to reinvent network and service architectures.
As timely flagship conference IEEE NetSoft will shed light on the fundamental technology components and systems for Software-Defined infrastructures, clouds and services in order to fully exploit its potential for efficiently handling of heterogeneous physical resources across wire and wireless networks and datacenter domains and for easy and fast deployment of new services. Moreover, the IEEE NetSoft aims to bring together academia and industry to jointly review and ponder maturing developments related to all aspects of softwarization.

The Technical Program Committee of the IEEE NetSoft 2016 conference has awarded the Best Student Paper to Sevil Mehraghdam from the SFB 901 project C4 for her paper "Placement of Services with Flexible Structures Specified by a YANG Data Model".

We sincerely congratulate Sevil and also her co-author and advisor Holger Karl on their outstanding success!
