The paper "Software tools for business model innovation: current state and future challenges" written by Daniel Szopinski, Thorsten Schoormann, Thomas John, Ralf Knackstedt and Dennis Kundisch, SFB 901 project C5, wins the "Paper of the Year 2021 Award" for papers published in Springers Electronic Markets Journal in 2020.

The paper published in issue 30/3 of the Electronic Markets Journal has been selected as one of the two papers of the year 2021. The authors synthesize knowledge from research on software tools for business model development and adjacent fields with the results of an analysis of 24 software tools from practice. Electronic Markets honors authors, who have published exceptional research based on the number of citations and a voting among Associate and Senior Editors.

Electronic Markets (EM) -- The International Journal on Networked Business -- is a quarterly, scholarly journal that covers diverse aspects of the digital economy. Edited at Leipzig University and published by Springer, EM has emerged as one of the premier scientific journals that explicitly focus on networked businesses enabled by information technology ("digitalization").
