Great success for the science location Paderborn

From the beginning of 2020, the Heinz Nixdorf Institute of the Paderborn University, the Fraunhofer IEM, Unity, it's OWL and Diebold Nixdorf will develop a digital platform for artificial intelligence in product development. 20 research institutions and companies work together on the research project "AI Marketplace", which is funded by the BMWi with 11.5 million euros. The Paderborn partners receive 4.5 million euros in funding, of which 2.5 million euros go to the Paderborn University alone.

"At the Paderborn research site in particular, we already have a large number of applications and research results in the field of artificial intelligence. The task now is to transfer our research into business practice. The AI marketplace is the basis for companies to find access to AI technologies and contacts and to implement them themselves. At the same time, science will also benefit enormously and identify valuable new research approaches," says Prof. Eyke Hüllermeier (Professor for Intelligent Systems and Machine Learning at the Heinz Nixdorf Institute of the Paderborn University and member of CRC 901).

Besides Eyke Hüllermeier, several other members of CRC 901 are involved in the AI marketplace project. In recent years, CRC 901 has carried out important basic research in the field of AI and automatic service creation. In addition, the "Proof-of-Concept" developed in CRC 901 will serve as a basis for the digital platform for artificial intelligence in product development which is now to be developed.

We sincerely congratulate the entire consortium on this great success!
